Mastering Processors

What is Mastering? PDF Print E-mail

Mastering is the end of the chain of production before it gets sent for manufacture. Since Mastering is the final opportunity to correct problems and enhance your music it should be carried out by a professional for best no compromise results.

All songs in the project are checked so that the levels match each other to ensure the listener doesnt have to keep adjusting the volume knob. The songs are matched tonally so that there is a consistent "sound" to the album/EP.

A great deal of attention is paid by listening for errors such as digital clicks which are then repaired. Mixes can be given more definition, punch, width and overall space.

The CD is put in the right order and the beginnings & endings of the songs are faded.

All the songs are made as loud as the ones you hear on the radio so you can be sure your material will compete with all commercial material. However there is no compromise on volume when the music would suffer.

We then give you a reference copy which can be listened on a system(s) that is familiar to you. Once you confirm you are happy a production master is made.

We can provide most formats for manufacturing and duplication including:

PMCD:
A verified and error checked audio CD that is used for manufacturing.

ISO: A verified, error checked ISO 9960 + cue file

DDP: A CD-ROM or DVD Data disc containing the  DDP files for manufacture.

We can transfer from many formats, please ask as we have a large resourse of equipment. We can also convert pretty much every audio format you can throw at us.
