Preparing for MasteringWhen booking a mastering session we will ask you a series of questions to get information about the session. If you have a reference of another artist it is useful to mention that too. If there was confusion at the mixing stage as to levels of say, the vocals, you could provide a vocal up mix and decide on that later in the mastering studio.
Once the material has been processed you will be given a reference CD for you to play in your known players and listening environments. Once you let us know you're happy then the production master is made & delivered. Audio Formats: Pretty much anything you want to give us is fine. Personally, for digital mixes 32 bit float is optimum as it cannot be overloaded at the mixdown stage. Supply it on audio CD (although this is only 16 bit), Data CD/DVD We currently do not have a half inch machine but we are working on that!
